After attending Camberwell College of Art, Kathryn has worked for over 25 years for both the private, commercial sectors and designers as a commissioned and bespoke project artist and colour consultant in the fields of interior decoration, decorative designs and finishes. However Kathryn originally started as a portrait artist and sculptor. She works in a variety of mediums to suit the project or space.
Creative expression is a reflection of ones inner tones, reflecting ones perceptions of our identity and experiences, a demonstration of perspective that can be documented in a visual form. The changes and developments of Kathryn’s work over time has become a catalyst to how she has developed and expanded creatively and spiritually.
Kathryn’s inquisitiveness within nature and the dimensions of self, led her to a spiritual enquiry and is an aspiring practitioner of Bhakti Yoga, finding depth and beauty within the realms of our relationship to the Self and our environment and often uses this as an anchor for creative expression.
The human form an equivocal subject of exploration; drawing from life quickly became fundamental to her artistic and developmental practice, giving more than just a mere representation, giving life to a drawing or painting whether it is a simple portrait, flower or bird. Inspiration comes from the observation of people, the natural world and finding a common ground. Constantly evolving, she endeavours to capture light in its mood and spirit in its atmosphere. Diving deeper into the poetry of the human experience.
