Kathryn Rennie
Kathryn is a seasoned artist and colour consultant with over 35 years of experience working across both private residences and commercial environments. A graduate of Camberwell College of Art, she has developed a highly intuitive and versatile practice, specialising in bespoke commissions, interior decoration, decorative finishes, and mural work that responds sensitively to each unique space.
Originally trained as a portrait artist and sculptor, Kathryn brings a deep understanding of form, light, and human presence into all aspects of her work. This foundation allows her to move fluidly between disciplines, adapting her artistic language to suit the intention of a project—whether creating immersive mural environments, refined decorative schemes, or quietly powerful focal pieces.
From 2015 until 2020, Kathryn founded and ran Conquest House Gallery in Canterbury, where she curated exhibitions and taught life drawing, portrait drawing, and painting. This period reflects her commitment not only to her own practice but to nurturing creativity in others—something she continues through teaching and mentoring emerging artists.
Kathryn’s approach is both aesthetic and experiential. She believes that a space should not only look beautiful, but feel harmonious, balanced, and alive. Her work is guided by a sensitivity to how people inhabit environments—how the eye moves, how light shifts throughout the day, and how colour and form can influence mood and wellbeing. Clients often value her ability to listen deeply and translate ideas, emotions, and aspirations into a cohesive visual language.
Her creative journey is also rooted in a spiritual exploration of self and the natural world. As a practitioner of Bhakti Yoga, Kathryn draws inspiration from her relationship with the Self and her surroundings, using this connection as an anchor for her artistic expression. This depth brings a subtle but powerful presence to her work—imbuing spaces with a sense of calm, meaning, and resonance.
Whether working on an intimate private interior or a larger commercial project, Kathryn approaches each commission with curiosity, care, and a commitment to excellence. Based in Kent, Kathryn works extensively across London and the surrounding areas, and is available for projects throughout the UK and internationally.
