Creative expression is a reflection of ones inner realm, ones beliefs, emotions, conflicts, thoughts, influences, fantasies, a process of inner expression that can be documented in a visual form. The changes and developments of Kathryn’s work over time has become a catalyst to how she has developed and expanded creatively and emotionally.
Kathryn’s inspiration comes from a rural upbringing fused with city living: questioning human nature and the dimensions of self, Kathryn embraces the spiritual philosophy of the Veda's as an anchor for creative expression.
The human form/vessel an equivocal subject of fascination; drawing from life quickly became fundamental to her artistic and developmental practice.
After attending Camberwell College of Art, Kathryn has worked for 25 years as a commissioned and project artist. She works in a variety of mediums and subject matter such as: Portraits, Landscapes and abstract painting in oils, pastels, watercolour, charcoal and chalks.
Kathryn continues to draw inspiration from people, communities, and the environment that unite us together. Constantly evolving, she endeavours to capture light in its mood and spirit in its atmosphere, identifying all living entities as part and parcel of the eternal, blissful, absolute supreme being.
